Methodology
Every week since May 24, 2026, our sister observatory esimvoyage.fr records the retail price of 1 GB of prepaid eSIM data across a panel of international resellers, in EUR. The panel currently holds 11 resellers: eSIM Voyage, Airalo, Nomad, Saily, Ubigi, Yesim, BNESIM, Jetpac, aloSIM, Instabridge, Maya Mobile. It grew from 6 to 11 resellers over the period; panel changes are annotated in the raw JSON. For each plan we compute the price per gigabyte (plan price divided by included data), average those readings per destination, then take the regional median and mean for every weekly reading. For this page we keep only the 27 destinations present in the Drift Asia catalogue, then convert to USD at the ECB reference rate of each collection date (frankfurter.dev). Rates are cached and never revised, so published points are immutable. Frozen monthly editions of the eSIM Price Index lock their own exchange rate at publication, which can differ from the weekly line by a few cents.
