KTX high-speed rail: the backbone of intercity travel

The KTX network connects Seoul to most major Korean cities at speeds up to 305 km/h. It is the primary intercity transport for most travelers and the standard choice for Seoul to Busan and Seoul to Gangwon ski resort routes. Mobile coverage on KTX routes follows a predictable pattern driven by geography: open terrain delivers strong 4G and 5G, and mountain tunnels cause brief drops. Seoul Metro: underground connectivity

Busan Metro and city transit

Busan's four Metro lines serve the city's coastal geography less comprehensively than Seoul's network, but coverage on the system is strong. The Donghae Line (Line 2) connecting Haeundae to the city center is the most important line for tourists and has reliable 4G in tunnels and 5G at major stations. Line 1, the central spine from Nopo in the north to Suyeong in the east, is similarly well-covered. Busan's city buses are the practical complement to the Metro for neighborhoods the rail network does not reach directly. These surface routes obviously have full outdoor mobile coverage throughout. Coverage on express bus routes varies more than on KTX because buses travel at lower speeds through all terrain types, including mountain passes and rural sections where 4G coverage thins out.
