  • Download any entertainment for evenings on the boat.
  • Confirm your post-Komodo accommodation booking is saved offline.

Raja Ampat: plan for zero signal

Raja Ampat in West Papua is one of the most biodiverse marine environments on earth and one of the least connected destinations in Asia. Over 75% of the world's coral species are found here. Mobile phone signal is not among them.

Sorong is your only prep window

Sorong is the last city before Raja Ampat. Do everything digital in Sorong: download all maps, save all confirmations, share your full itinerary with a contact outside Indonesia, and withdraw Indonesian Rupiah in cash. ATMs are not available on the islands. Card payments are rare. Your eSIM data ends in Sorong harbor.

What your eSIM is useful for in these destinations

In Labuan Bajo and Sorong, your Telkomsel-backed eSIM is exactly as useful as anywhere else: Gojek (where available), maps, accommodation booking, communication. The dead zones are the destination, not the transit. Budget your data for the gateway cities and the return, not for the park or the archipelago itself.
