Singtel is the only operator with complete 5G coverage across all six underground MRT lines and 27 Thomson-East Coast Line stations. StarHub and M1 have strong underground 4G but limited underground 5G. For commuting between major attractions on the MRT, Singtel gives you the fastest experience below ground.
What 100% coverage actually means for a traveler
In practical terms: you have fast mobile data everywhere in Singapore, at all times. Marina Bay Sands rooftop. The hawker centre at the bottom of your HDB block. The Sentosa Beach cable car. The deepest underground MRT station. All covered, all fast. This is not the case anywhere else in Asia. It changes the calculus entirely: instead of worrying about where signal drops, you focus on how much data you need and what the plan costs.
Singapore is the one Asian destination where downloading offline maps is genuinely optional rather than essential. The network is reliable enough that live Google Maps works everywhere, including underground. How much data Singapore needs
Singapore is a small, dense city-state. You are rarely far from anything, and excellent free wifi is available in virtually every mall, hotel, hawker centre and public space.
